We moved to this new city a little over a week ago. My stress level has gone up and down and up again. You would think that after I became Dr. Zhang, things would be easier. Well, they kinda did. I can write papers faster now. But what is still difficult is learning - I can never stop learning. Especially, that's the goal of this postdoc.
While I was trying to read a chapter and got distracted, 10 PM I got an email from my mentor. He said he finished reading the chapter... And then I went to my email box, and found out that before I met him and knew who he was, my advisor had sent us many papers which were written by him. I'm so grateful. I don't even know what a brilliant mind that is.
Throughout my pursuit of a life, a dream, I have had many greatest mentors in the world. They are all brilliant, they are all powerful, but they are all very nice and positive.... they have given me the responsiveness that my parents were never able to give. And that nurtured me and facilitated my growth.
I am looking around at my life and I feel so happy. Don't forget who you are. You took a long way to come here. Your diligence, never-give-up, optimism, determination, and flexibility.... will help you go through this.
Trust that good things will happen in your life, and be open-minded about what life has to offer you....
